BONE COMPONENTS
Bone is a form of specialized connective tissue with, above all, support functions. Connective tissue originates in the mesenchyme. Mesenchymal tissue forms the muscles, cartilage, bone, dermis and the blood.
Basically, bone is composed of an extracellular matrix of collagen (a family of proteins with mechanical support functions) subjected to a process of mineralization, and specific cells within it and on the surface.
